B&J Roofing tore off old shingles and put new composite shingles on our large, complicated roof in Seattle, and replaced two skylights. Their bid was competitive with other roofers we contacted, and better than some. They began work promptly after we signed the contract, and worked weekdays until the work was completed, which took two whole weeks. We were fortunate to have dry weather during the whole process. The parts of the roof I can see look very good, and the trim installation around the skylight interiors was excellent. I was impressed by the roofing team's attention to safety during the process of roofing a steeply pitched part of the roof. While B&J's owners and office staff are locals, the roofing team were Hispanic. A communication problem with the roofing team delayed the start of work for a day even though the foreman's English seemed good. I wish there had been more active supervision by the owners. I was surprised at how long the work took to complete. I wish communication on this subject would have been better. B&J did a solid job on my roof at a good price. What more could you ask?

We had some water leaking into one of our rental units in Seattle. Fearing the worst, we thought we needed a new roof. A neighbor of ours in Bellevue had used B & J Roofing for their house and had raved about the job they did for them. Not many roofers work on flat roofs, so we were encouraged when other roofers (who didn't handle flat roofs) referred us to them as well. Setting up the appointment was easy. The receptionist was very pleasant and was able to schedule someone to come out in a few days. When it turned out that it was going to be raining quite heavily on the scheduled day of our appointment, she called to re-schedule a day earlier and mentioned that we didn't need to be there if it was an inconvenience. We appreciated that but it was no problem for us to re-arrange our schedule. When the day arrived, one of B.J.'s senior workers came out and looked at the roof. He discovered that the problem was not the quality of the roof but clogged drains that were keeping the water from draining off the roof. Bottom line, he gave some recommendations about improving our drainage, said that a new roof was not needed, and didn't charge for examining the roof. It was quite a relief and we much appreciated his efforts. Even though we didn't need a new roof this time around, B & J will be at the top of our list when we do.

Pleasant staff and professional workers. They gave me sound advice and recommendations for certain additions. They did a great job on my new roof and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day. Highly recommended!
