Another company (Home Energy Saving Solutions) did my energy audit, served as the general contractor, and handled the rebate process with the utility company. The Fifth Fuel showed up to perform my attic air sealing and insulation (including removal of the old insulation because we were having problems with silverfish and centipedes). They also did some air sealing in the basement and the cantilever (where the second floor sticks out over the first floor). They did a very good job with everything. They lined the hallway and bedroom with plastic to protect everything from dirt and footprints. I inspected the attic before they installed the insulation and saw that they had performed a very thorough job of using spray foam to seal up every gap and penetration between the house and the attic. They insulated the house walls inside the attic. Then they blew in 15" of cellulose insulation. I have never lived in a house with that much attic insulation before! The house is definitely more comfortable this winter thanks to their work. I recommend The Fifth Fuel.

The Fifth Fuel is highly recommended to address your insulation needs. Logan responded quickly to evaluate my home, make recommendations with options and educate me on the available Federal credits and Virginia rebates currently available. I received my quote promptly and any questions/clarifications were answered. The insulation technicians arrived on time, were polite, kept the interior clean and provided me with pictures to show the work completed. I can already feel the positive difference after removal of old insulation, installation of new insulation at R-49, installation of attic baffles and air sealing. I highly recommend Fifth Fuel for their professionalism and the quality of their work.
