Our windows and doors were installed 20 years ago and the installation was perfect. All done in one day, neat and perfect fit. This review is a cautionary tale about Andersen customer service. In theory, Andersen products have a lifetime warranty or close to it. However, if you hava a problem with an Andersen product, there is very little chance you will get full service on the repair. Art offered to install the repair hardware if I ordered it, however, Andersen customer service refused to deal with anyone other than authorized technicians, so it proved to be a brick wall. The part number for my French door is ambiguous and customer service refused to Facetime to deduce the model number for the latch set. Since the door wouldn't lock, I opted to pay out of pocket to have an non-Andersen technician order a replacement part and install it. Art's offer was generous, but without the knowledge or authority to get the replacement part from customer service, it is all for naught. Like all warranties, there is a statute of limitations and I am sure the NOVA would stand by a product that was installed in the last decade but the lifetime warranty is not truly lifetime. Andersen customer service is the most difficult and obtuse service organization I have ever dealt with.

We chose Nova Installations due to all the rave Checkbook reviews, but had a terrible experience. I can only assume the folks who are so positive were happy with pocket insert window replacements, which reduced the amount of glass in our case. We picked expensive (energy efficient, panes-on-the-outside) windows but, despite the salesman’s assurance that they would strive to maintain or exceed the original window size – we contracted for full tear-outs -- we ended up with smaller windows/ darker rooms. I trusted these guys because the Checkbook reviews had implied they were straight shooters. The installation, itself, was fine, it’s just that they undersized the windows. Suggest going with a firm that measures the windows BEFORE requiring a 50 percent down payment so that it’s easier to walk away if you suspect they aren’t able or willing to deliver what you want. Now we are stuck with very expensive but smaller windows. If window size isn't important, their contractors appeared to be quite competent; hopefully the window manufacturer will agree if we ever need to pursue a warranty.

Crew did a great job installing a new window and sliding glass door. The sliding glass door needed to be relocated. The contractor handled all of the permitting and did a great job in reframing the door.
