Never buy from Ikea online!! After a 2-week delay to schedule delivery, the item never came, and we were promised delivery day after day after day, and nothing ever arrived. IKEA takes too long to ship items and uses an inferior delivery firm, probably to save themselves money. The complete story is below:
We ordered a dresser and had to wait 2 weeks for expected delivery. Waited all day on the appointed delivery and nothing showed up. IKEA was unreachable by phone- message said “call back” every time we called. Finally got phone for delivery company and discovered, after 45 minutes’ wait on the phone, that item had arrived at company at 2 pm, too late to come on the truck. Promised delivery in 2 days. Again, nothing arrived- again furniture was alleged to arrive too late on this second day to put in the truck. Promised delivery again for next day. When nothing appeared to be arriving, we called delivery company again- they confirmed that their system indicated delivery was to occur on this day, but they couldn’t confirm item had been put on truck and suspected it had not. We never received it and cancelled the order, losing 2 weeks to get the needed item.
