I am referring to HP "Smart Friend Service" which is a telephone service that gives you access to experts located throughout the world. They take control of your computer to fix problems. If necessary, they arrange to have your computer shipped to a location in the USA for repair. They recently replaced a crashed hard drive of mine; it took a total of 13 days. The cost was covered by a HP Care Package for $130. This package covered the cost of replacing the hard drive and covers the total cost of repairing any future problem for one year. I have had this service for several years ($15/month) and found it to be excellent for installing software and maintaining my computer.
