We have used APS for over 10 years for both Yard Mowing, Fall & Spring Cleanup (we paid c. $690 this year), some Spring Landscaping, and to bolster our lawn where needed. In all cases, ad hoc prices have been provided, but we trust them now, and don't usually ask. Their weekly mowing service is dependable and cheap. We usually call them when grass is tall enough in the spring to begin mowing.
