After a botched plumbing job in my grandfather's 110-year-old DC row house, the upstairs bathroom was left completely unusable. The plumber left a hole in the floor where the toilet once sat. Even worse, he did not put down a tarp, thus allowing concrete and other debris to fall through an existing hole in the kitchen ceiling to be strewn all over the kitchen and into the sink drain below. Thankfully I was referred to Sigma Construction Partners by a longtime coworker/friend, and what a blessing that turned out to be. When we initially met George, we were only looking to repair the bathroom floor and plumbing. But realistically, we knew the bathroom was decades overdue for a complete renovation. In addition to the bathroom, the kitchen needed repairs and a refresh. George listened to our wishes and was already thinking ahead with plans. Once the bathroom neared completion, water from the basement quarter bathroom started backing up into the kitchen. Fortunately, this happened before work began in the kitchen. George's crew discovered a broken pipe in the floor of the basement due to years of corrosion. This required them to not only dig up the concrete floor, but also tunnel out into the back yard to remove additional corroded pipes. Thankfully we now have reliable plumbing for years to come along with a presentable basement bathroom, a refreshed kitchen and a 21st century upstairs bathroom! What George and his crew do is more than just improving the aesthetics and functionality of your home. George loves what he does, and it shines through. He is patient, a good listener and very personable. He thinks ahead for what will work best in your life while keeping the final cost affordable and very reasonable. The added bonus is that he has a hardworking, talented crew who takes pride in their work as well. If you have the opportunity to hire/work with Sigma Construction Partners and George Barksdale, I highly encourage you to do so. My grandfather is quite the curmudgeon but after the results, he is now inspired to hire Sigma for other home projects.
