I'm writing this review specifically to recommend buying frames at Costco, even if you have the lenses made elsewhere. I've bought them at both at Shoreline & Lynnwood locations. They have a decent size selection & I've always been able to find a pair I like for under $100, although they do have somewhat higher priced ones, including some designer names. If you need help with fit or style, staff knowledge can be spotty. However, when an optician elsewhere told me a frame purchased at Costco didn't fit well enough mid-nose to use for bifocals, Costco gave me a refund without issue. Shoreline Costco staff also told me I could purchase frames I found this September to use to make a pair of glasses in January after my insurance allowance renews. They do this by refunding the frames at that time & re-charging the purchase as frames plus lenses, so you would need the receipt. After a bad experience, I actually don't recommend having bifocal lenses made by Costco. These days, their lab & a lot of labs used by other opticians do a terrible job with those. Costco is likely adequate for making single-vision lenses. After all, tons of people do have their lenses made there. Just make sure they use the measurement device you place over your eyes & stare at the dot and also place a dot on each lens in line your pupil. I can't comment on Costco's ability to determine lens prescription. I always use an opthamologist.

If you find frames you like at Costco, it's a great place to get glasses, especially for people with strong prescriptions that cost extra at other stores. Be prepared to visit the optical department several times as the frame selection changes, to wait a while for your turn in line, and to go back for adjustments to the frames and lenses. Sometimes everything works great, and sometimes it takes a few tries.

Friendly, knowledgeable, willing to discuss the "why" of adjustments (they also were not busy at the time).
