Most people might not be bothered by my situation because they make more money than I do (under 40K yr). Banfield is decent in most regards but my situation was really expensive for my income bracket; in that, they charged me for a healthy pet agreement for one year of monthly payments to have my dog up to date with shots and other care as needed. To get the neuter/spay service, I was charged more per month but agreed to the amount to get the spay done. An appointment was setup for the spaying and I arrived as scheduled. Once my dog was in their care, I was called back to the clinic two different times, the spaying had to be rescheduled and the blood test cost came to nearly $300. I never returned to Banfield for pet care again. The blood test was enough to pay for six months of the agreement and the office staff and veterinarian were not in adequate communication with prices or procedures. I was overcharged for the pet care and the costs were unexpected.

New principal increases prices regularly. Quality of care is adequate but cost is an issue. There are days where the practice is completely booked and you cannot get on that day of for several days afterward-in especially if you want to see the same vet you have used over time. While this issue could be the case at other practices in view of COVID, it has been the case in dealing with this practice prior to the pandemic which seems to be reflective of the principal's approach to assuring maximum scheduled daily billing hours which does not allow for flexibility.
