I saw Dr. Blahous for issues with multiple toenails. He told me that there are many reasons for the issues I was having and the best way to determine treatment was to send a sample to a lab. Per his advice, I agreed to have a toenail removed. Which I later discovered was an unnecessary - and yet expensive and painful - procedure since he could have used a clipping instead of removing the entire nail. When the lab results came back, I informed by his tech that there was no fungus in the nail. I asked his tech what treatment he was recommending. She called me back to tell me that he had said "to let the nail grow out". That's it??? Good to know. Cuz I definitely wasn't interested in wasting more money. I followed up with a different podiatrist. This time the nail sample - just a clipping - came back as not a fungus but bacteria. Somewhat unusual but still treatable. Conclusion: in my case, Dr Blahous's work was cursory, expensive and useless.
