The Seattle Gym’s Laurelhurst location closed and members who prepaid fees were promised a refund. My repeated requests for the promised refund were ignored by the Seattle Gym. I finally received the refund only after filing a complaint with the Washington State Office of Attorney General.

Freezing in winter, sweltering in summer. Weight machines sub-standard. Showers take forever to deliver hot water. Doesn't take complaints of racism seriously. Nice second-floor patio area. A few good instructors. Not the friendliest, most helpful staff ("If you don't like it, fine, you can go somewhere else.").

I like the gym for the variety of their aerobic equipment and weight machines. IN a gym I prefer the best piece of equipment for a particular muscle group rather than all equipment bought from one vendor. I find it to be crowded though and at times hard to get onto equipment to finish a workout. At the same time as I feel the machines are too crowded for the space, they seem to need the machines the have to provide for all their clientele.
