The caregivers at Blue Ridge essentially stopped caring for my 89 yr old mother during the pandemic. Unbeknownst to me at the time, she lost 50 lbs. She gained much of it back once I was able to get inside and supervise her food intake. Was initially told by owner Amante Tadique that if Mom moved in she could stay for the rest of her life and her rent would not increase. He said he would he convert her to a Medicaid resident if her funds were depleted as long as she stayed for seven years. Mom had dementia and I knew if I ever had to move her again, it would be extremely difficult. Well Amante reneged on all his promises. A blessing in disguise as we found a lovely place with a caring staff and delicious healthy food, but the move was too much for her to bear and she passed away in the following weeks. Folks who own adult family homes should care about the elderly, but I guess it's not required by the state.
