Communication was not proactive. I had to do all the pinging to get everything going and to find out status. Our taxes were not complex and bill seemed high. Got very little in recommendations on tax preparation for 2020. 2019 withholdings were way too high resulting in large tax refund. I used them because my 2018 accountant had joined this firm. I thought I was getting him to prepare my taxes only to find out he is just a final review. So I was paying for junior accountant. Also when I signed return, the firms owner did all the communication and was the signer of my return. Never met the guy. so, my accountant wasn't even responsible legally. Overall very misleading.

This was my first use of a CPA to do federal taxes, after years of doing it myself using Turbo Tax. They were much better, easier to use, and gave better support. They cost more, but were easily worth the cost. Much less hassle, and better results.
