Eastside has been my go to service agency 99% since I bought my 2011 Outback from them new. They have always, until my last encounter with them, been excellent with their service from initial contact for routine maintenance to repair to invoicing and delivery of car. My last encounter was for what I thought was going to be a simple replacement of one tire pressure sensor. Not to be. They recommended all 4 sensors for replacement at a cost that not only sent me into sticker shock, but sent me immediately to my local mechanic who is great with Subarus. He said that he does not do sensor replacement. Back to Eastside who then told me that they did not have the sensors in stock, that there was a shortage and it would be a week to get them from the East Coast because none were available on the entire West Coast. When the sensors arrived a few days later, the work took an entire day to complete. My research indicated that the work could have been done in less than 4 hours. Kudos to Eastside for recognizing the troublesome situation and providing a deep discount on the total bill. I still recommend their work, but their prices are outrageous. If you have the money go to them, but if you can find quality work at a local mechanic, especially after the warrantees lapse, go there first.

My wife brought her Impreza here for a 60,000 mile service. She had called a couple of Subaru dealers for quotes and Eastside was the lowest. Mistake. They performed a portion of the items on the 60,000 service list, then presented her with a new quote for more than $7,000 for additional work they said was needed, including another $400 to complete the 60,000 mile service that they had quoted her previously. They made a lame excuse for the low-ball quote that was clearly a matter of disrespect for her as a woman, thinking she would fall for it. She did not. she took the car to a couple of additional shops where she got some of the inspections done for free and where she found that most of the work the dealer had recommended was not necessary. They had clearly lied to her about "oil leaks" and about the brake measurement. We will follow up with the authorities on this.

Took our 2017 Outback with 45k mi. in for electrical work to Eastside Subaru. This was done well, but we got a shock when they called to tell us we needed new brake pads all the way around and both rear bearings replaced. The additional work would be over $2000, we decided to get a second opinion. We were glad we did. Greg's Japanese Auto told us the rear brake pads were getting low and should be replaced and that one rear bearing needed replaced. They said the front pads had plenty of life left and there was no need to replace the other rear bearing. We are glad we got the second opinion. It saved us over $1000. Eastside Subaru did take care of our problems with the electrical system and it was mostly covered under the 100k warranty we purchased when buying the car - the jury is still out on the value of the warranty. The Eastside staff was very friendly and the work they did was prompt and solved our original problem. I think the recommendation for the brake work was a bit aggressive. If we had lots of money we would have just gone ahead with their recommendation, but we have to watch what we spend since we are semi retired. There are many things we need and not enough money to go around. So we were thankful for Greg's more conservative approach. Eastside Subaru has done our regular services in the past and we have no complaints there. They usually have openings when Carter Subaru where we purchased our Outback, does not, so it has need easier to take it in for routine services there.
