The guy making the estimate wanted to know "how much I was willing to pay". Red flag. I asked how much he thought the job would cost, (because that's why he was there - for an estimate). His estimate was several times what my other estimates were. He may have known that this was too high because he also said they can work by the hour, and get more or less done, depending. He said the workers did a good job, and were tracked by a project manager. For half a day's work? Too much senseless talking! I just wanted an estimate.

We had the lawns (front and back) rehabbed. This was a 3 step process: 1)mow/edge/fertilize; 2) heavy aeration and thatching, 1/2" of sand spread, fertilize and overseed; 3) follow-up to seed those areas that did not come in well. The general results have been good although two issues cropped up. The first is that seed got into our gravel driveway and flower beds that we had just cleaned up. The second is that step three had to be redone because it wasn't done correctly the first time. The crew stuck with it though and got the job completed. We did not get multiple bids so we cannot easily compare costs.
