Plus side: Dr. Petersen fixed a long-standing problem with my neck and I considered him a miracle worker. The office is large and roomy, and the staff is professional. I appreciate the modern, electronic appointment reminders and office news, and the flexibility in making appointments. Negative side: On 4/21/21 I asked Dr. Petersen to address a small bit of tightness in my lower back. He hurt me so badly I couldn't bend and could barely walk (I normally walk 4- 6 miles every day). It got increasingly worse, including amazingly bad shooting pains that caused me to scream and start to fall. On 5/1/21 I returned on an emergency basis, thinking he could fix what he had damaged. He just WAILED on me while talking with another chiropractor who was visiting. I was so badly injured I couldn't leave the office right away. Over the next two weeks, there were two nights where I almost called an ambulance - I literally could not move to get out of bed for 15 minutes I was in so much pain - and it took me 15 minutes to get back into bed. I had to use walking sticks to walk around my house. I worked extremely hard on my recovery. My medical doctor thought something was broken, and sent me for xrays and an MRI. One night I was so bad that I called my medical doctor on his emergency number - the first and only time in my life I've had to do this. I was crying. Today is 7/17/21 and I am much, much better, but still not fully recovered from what Dr. Petersen did to me. Oh, and by the way, in the early months of 2021, he didn't wear a mask or wore it just over his mouth, even when I asked him to please cover both his mouth and nose. This is so unfortunate, because he seems to be a nice person, and he truly helped me with a long-standing neck problem. I am writing this to warn people. I consulted with five medical malpractice (negligence) attorneys and considered filing a complaint with the licensing authority. I've decided to tell people what happened to me through reviews, instead. BTW, I've been going to chiropractors most of my life. My regular chiropractor retired, and my new guy was unable to treat my neck - that's how I ended up seeing Dr. Petersen. I saw my retired chiropractor three times after I was injured, but I was in so much pain and so stiff that he really couldn't do anything for me. Good luck in making your treatment decision Update: 7/18/21 I was in almost-screaming back pain again from what Dr. Petersen did to me. I was better on 7/19/21.
