I have used Tom Muse services for years, but the firm no longer belongs to the Muse family and service and attitude have gone steeply downhill. More interest is shown in selling expensive new equipment than in customer service and reasonably repairing workable equipment.

Good price for annual HVAC checkups and 1-hour service call. Price quoted for repair was exorbitant based upon online parts costs. Ordered the parts and paid the overnight delivery surcharge and installed them myself in under an hour for 1/6th the repair quote, which seems to be designed to push the customer toward a new furnace.

We've relied on Tom Muse for HVAC work for more years than I can count, but that's over now. Our most recent call for furnace service resulted in a high-pressure attempt to turn a $200 repair into a $13,000 replacement. "My boss doesn't like coming out over and over," the tech said several times, also, "I might not have parts." For awhile, it wasn't clear that he was going to do the service work at all. He stood in my living room for at least ten uncomfortable minutes, seeming to email someone for permission. Only when I said for the fourth or fifth time that all I wanted was to get my heater functioning did he reluctantly do the work.
