Argent installed a high end tankless hot water unit in our house in March 2024. The unit has twice quit working. The first time they fixed it and did not charge for the service. This was expected and proper business practice. The second time, the technician showed up a couple of hours early based on the customer service representative’s projections. I left our residence momentarily on an errand believing the tech would not be arriving for a couple of hours. But I case the tech should arrive earlier than anticipated, I provided the tech with a key in an outside location and instructions to access the tank should the tech arrive before I came home. When I returned home, I found that the tech had accessed our home. Howeve, no invoice was provided. When I called and inquired what was done, the customer service rep said that the tech’s record indicated that a switch on the unit had been turned off and she had flipped it back on. I was curious about this response because no one accesses the space where the tank is located other than my wife and me. The unit has several manual switches located on or near it. Due to the unit’s complexity, we do not flip any of the switches on/off. I asked to speak with the tech for a more detailed explanation of what service was provided. The tech did not respond and the customer rep deferred on my inquiry to the tech whom she said could provide further details. Several days later, we received via email an invoice for $165. No explanation was given regarding the alleged service provided. We followed up in writing requesting an explanation of the bill and why it would not have been covered by warranty. The reply from Argent just contained the previously received invoice but with no explanation of service provided which we had specifically requested. Our system - which they installed - is very complicated. Frankly we are captive customers due to the complexity of the system and we do not any viable service provider alternatives. Obviously they know this. Hence poor service and arbitrary billing. Argent was a family owned business and one that was reliable and transparent in their billing. But it has been acquired by my a much larger commercial heating and cooling entity. Attention to this small customer’s inquiry was nonexistent. We are very disappointed in them.

Our furnace (Carrier) is a lemon. Cannot recommend them for sales. Repair staff is good, though.

Needed new igniter on our gas boiler when we returned from out of town without working heat. He came the next day and replaced the part after going a ways to buy replacement. I'd call them again.
