We called Floor & Kitchen of Sterling, VA, based on the company's reviews in Washington Consumers' Checkbook, about renovating the kitchen and breakfast room in our c. 1990 Maryland condominium unit. We are very glad we did. As others have commented, the principal, Ray, was immediately responsive when we called. He was also generous with his time from the design phase through completion. He took care to listen to what we wanted and built those details into the design elements of the project. He was also available to discuss project elements throughout each phase, coming to the work site when needed. The project estimate was reasonable and, though there were a few extra charges, the project stayed close to the original budget. It helped that the company has a showroom. The selection of products on display is somewhat limited (certainly as compared to the big-box stores). But the materials are adequate and good quality. They include flooring, countertop material, wall tiles, and wood cabinetry. (Our appliances, plumbing fixtures, knobs and pulls were purchased separately.) Ray has put together a highly-skilled team of workers, Alex, Eduardo and others. Their work was excellent and all were respectful of our time and space. All arrived on-time when scheduled and worked diligently and as quietly as possible (a big concern in a condominium). They also cleaned up after each day’s work to keep the dust to manageable levels and wrapped up by the condominium's deadline of 4:30 PM. Above all, the project was started on schedule, and, despite the Thanksgiving and end-of-year holidays, the work was completed on schedule without cutting corners. In sum, we are exceptionally pleased with the experience and the final product and have no reservations recommending this company.

I called Floor & Kitchen in Sterling, VA based on their positive reviews on Checkbook. I was promptly given an appointment for an in-home visit. Ray visited our home, took measurements and discussed various options for the type of flooring we wanted for our basement. He invited us to visit his showroom to look over various products they had on display. We took home several samples to see how they would look in our basement. Ray was a real pleasure to work with. He answered all our questions promptly. We selected LVP to replace the existing carpet in our basement. We decided to go with Floor & Kitchen. The installation team showed up on time, they were very professional and kept the work area clean. They consulted us on our preferences as well as advised us what will look best in terms of installation. The work was completed on time and workmanship is of excellent quality. We are very pleased with our new flooring and highly recommend Ray and his company Floor & Kitchen for any flooring project.

Ray was fabulous to work with from start to finish and was always available to answer questions and ease any of my concerns. His price was very competitive for the project. In addition, Floor & Kitchen was one of a handful of companies willing to remove porcelain tile in my kitchen prior to installing LVP throughout my condo. The team arrived daily at the expected time and cleaned up at the end of each day's work. They did a great job installing the LVP and I am very happy with the result.
