We first called Dobson re: air handler repair. They came out (for $135) and gave us a suspiciously high quote. We called the office to discuss & spoke to Andy. He was argumentative, uncooperative, complained that the unit was in a tough location, & said we were paying for his tech experience ("Would we want otherwise?"). Just to get the job done, we offered to pay him $500 less than his quote. He stressed that this left him very little margin. Because he was so confrontational, we called another company. The second company, with a great attitude and skill, did the job in 45 minutes for $800 less. And there were no complaints of any kind.

I have a contract with this firm to check my furnace in the fall and air conditioning in the spring. I have never had my equipment fail during its operating season.

We've had R.A. Dobson take care of our heating and AC for over 40 years. Every year we sign a service contract; technicians come to our home in the spring and fall to make sure our AC and heating are in good shape. These service calls definitely lead to fewer catastrophic issues, such as losing heat in the winter! The technicians are knowledgeable and courteous, going all the way back to Fred in the 80s! R.A. Dobson is a good, solid business.
