Use to be good for many years but very bad experience by service person. Recommend doubtful service need and then got very nasty when told we needed to think about it.

Their website advertises free estimates. I suspected my attic fan was not working so I called and asked for a technician to look at it and determine what kind of repair or replacement was needed. They gave me an appointment for a week later. When I opened the door to greet the technician, he immediately announced that he would charge $198 to inspect the fan to see what if anything needed fixing, or I could skip the inspection and he would just tell me the flat rate to replace the fan. Because I had waited a week for the appointment, and I felt under duress to agree to the $198 charge, even though I thought it was unfair for them to advertise free estimates and then announce a fee upon arrival. The tech spent no more than 10 minutes looking at the fan, told me the wiring was good but the fan needed replacement. Considering how little time the inspection took, the $198 seemed even more unfair. I called another Checkbook recommended vendor, who did not charge to inspect the fan, and whose estimate was almost half that of this company. I tried 3 times to reach someone in management to ask if they would like to waive the charge for the estimate considering they did not inform me of the charge before sending out the tech, and no one from management would discuss it with me.
