I take my pet(s) to this veterinarian because they are located close to my home. However, I believe they are more expensive than they could be. There are several other veterinarians in this area, some that I have used in the past, and I believe there was one (Burke Animal Clinic) that was a more compassionate practice than these vets. However, because my pet vocalizes the entire trip to the vet, I choose to take her to the closest practice, which happens to be Springfield Medical Center. Also, they seem to be more expensive than some of the other local veterinary practices.

update to previous post , which mostly dealt \with front office which was advised of dogs MUCH ANXIETY, which , in my opinion, begun with the multiple vet visits. Hospital aware of such. But ignored. Agreed to enter hospital once vet was ready, only for dog to wait 10-20 min, ETERNITY, crying, breathing heavily, trying to get out of room. Vet enters, we discuss potential surgery for ear mass. I go outside so dog can perhaps relax, vet is explaining upcoming potential surgery to wife, telling her, if surgery done, dog has to be up to date on all shots. Being under stress, we take dog back inside for shots. COULD NOT VET SEE STRESS ON DOG AND DO SHOTS ON SAME DAY AS SURGERY? THE ONLY SHOT REALLY Needed was rabies, (month behind) and from what I understand it takes a month for shot to be activated. If so, with surgery within a week, certainly shots, 3 of them on same day? , could have waited to keep dog from having two stressful visits in one day. Certainly, the hospital needs $$, and such would come from surgery. The shots, generate $ as well, but vets disagree on them, certainly 3 on one day not good. Vet is great, however, "assembly line'' thinking , oblivious to dogs feelings , is probably worse than leaving ear mass alone, and take chances, since dog could easily have had heart attack, given, the previous vet's mistreatment, eg nuking pup at 14 weeks , with scheduled shot and first rabies, most likely causing thyroid, thyroid causing lethargy, lethargy causing weight gain, and weight gain causing heart issues , and perhaps heart attack when under tremendous stress. All these do not see to enter many vet's brain, in that they keep the status quo, shots, and more shots.Bring him in for wellness, etc. Dogs fear never taken into consideration- Was dog born like that or acquired via vet visits? Out of several vets, not a single one seemed to be concerned about dogs stress during visit, like, let's expedite it, or meet in car next time. No, too much for vets to meet in car to accommodate stressed animals.Risk of heart attack is better. Previous post herein by someone else pointed out, shots not pushed in this hospital. Not the case herein. There was a hospital , Shirlington animal hospital, that gave out sheet stating :"no animal seen without proof of current in shots". incredible.
