We are fortunate for our patience. While obtaining quotes from more than 5 Checkbook sources to replace our huge 3 story high roof, we also requested quotes to replace all 27 double hung (12 are oversized 74" tall) & 2 picture windows (one 48w x 72h) our front door with 2 sidelites and overhead transom as well as basement door. I rely heavily on Checkbook feedback and it has been terrific over the years in delivering good home improvement & home maintenance results. My job as warranted Contracting Officer who competes large $ awards is no different; what Checkbook ratings & feedback provides is past performance experiences. Asking quotes from Checkbook sources with 100+ ratings and 85-90% rating is like no-brainer bec remaining factors impacting decision on which firm to proceed and do the work comes down to Quality of Materials/Product & Reasonable Price. It was by accident that we happen to come across QUALITY and BEAUTY OF Virginia EXTERIOR's expert "second to none" workmanship. What puzzled me was why there were no CHECKBOOK ratings however fact that I already had over-researched & possessed written price quotes from 5 top-rated CHECKBOOK firms I had become educated and was now aware of price differentials meaning few sources offered multiple grades of home improvement products from acceptable to Higher Quality. It was a slam dunk when I discovered SUNRISE WINDOWS (manufactured in Michigan) and ProVia DOORS were being quoted by Eddie Hane, Virgina EXTERIORS as initially SUNRISE WINDOWS were in same category as MARVIN INFINITY fiberglass, much too expensive and out of my price range. By accident again I happen to follow a Sunrise Windows tractor trailer crossing Wilson Bridge and it enabled me to obtain prices from 3 Sunrise dealers and low and behold, my wife and I and our neighbors are stunned by quality installation and finishing touches that EDDIE HANE the owner and his team of 6 employees under the supervision of ALBERTO did not disappoint us, rather they far exceeded our expectations and we are also happy we had negotiated options prices for wrapping exterior no-paint trim to include around both garage doors as well as the exterior of our large and tall colonial. Do yourself a favor and take a chance, request a quote and don't be surprise to see numerous photos of Virginia EXTERIOR's prior jobs which is the reason why bulk of their business is referrals, repeated customers and neighbors who can see/witness quality first hand up close between replacement ProVia front doors and Sunrise windows when comparing similar large colonial homes side by side. On to our next expensive project, as we intend to keep this home for life as its close-in location and quality Fairfax Public Schools result in "win-win."
