For our tenth wedding anniversary, my late husband gave me 1 ct. diamond studs in what were supposed to be platinum settings - it even said "platinum" on the receipt. I took them to an appraiser this year, who showed me that the settings were white gold - yes, it was stamped on the setting. In addition, the diamonds were the lowest quality possible. Buyer beware!
