Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing was able to provide dialysis to my husband after he broke his hip. Dialysis was good, and physical therapy was good BUT day to day nursing care was awful. A couple of caretakers were OK, but others were horrid. The level of care caused my husband to lose the progress he had made in the hospital. Due to lack of staffing they kept him in bed 24/7 rather than helping him to get up. Each day I had to request water for him since it was not automatically there. Food was not appropriate for a kidney patient. He was supposed to get "double protein"; but one day there was no protein. His tray routinely said he was receiving 8 ounces of water, yet he received only one four ounce container of water.

I brought my mother to this place when she needed 24 hour care upon the recommendation of someone I hired to evaluate her needs. The administrative staff were HORRIBLE. Upon arrival, I was reprimanded for bringing her there in my car. Then when I tried to take her to another facility, I was told that I would be reported to Adult protective services. Very expensive and not good record keeping. We were charged for things that insurance should have covered. This would be my last choice for a facility...look elsewhere. I would rate this place as extremely low quality. Thank you Checkbook for giving me an opportunity to express my opinion and warn others.
