I brought my mini-van in for a strange judder at low speeds. Instead of selling me on a new transmission, they researched the problem with Honda and found a much cheaper solution to replace the factory transmission fluid with a software upgrade - it was much cheaper than a new transmission!

I took an older SUV with a suspected transmission issue in to Hi-Tech. They looked at it the next day, and called me back promptly. They said they had driven it and done both an engine and a transmission scan, and there were no problems with the transmission. (they had also checked the fluid level and looked at the color of the fluid) They did say there was a miss-fire problem throwing codes on the engine scan, and those can sometimes show up as transmission symptoms. They suggested I take it somewhere to get the engine issue resolved, and then bring it back if there was still a transmission problem. All of this road testing and computer analysis was done at no charge, and they were both as pleasant and as knowledgeable as could be. I was thoroughly impressed, and if it turns out my car does need transmission work, I will definitely be coming back here! They're a class act.
