I don't usually rate a company just for just giving an estimate, but in this case the owner was rude for no good reason, after I took the time to explain why I was going with another company. A quality shop wants that sort of feedback. This guy wrote to me "I don't care what you think." Who sends out that email? Weird response... Look through the reviews, many of which look dubious to me, and you will find similar complaints to mine. There is a pattern. As a person who has worked in the trades for years, I am suggesting that you can find a better company elsewhere.

Responsive and polite but communication style is often hurried and incomplete, which was frustrating at times. Nevertheless, they corrected a cosmetic issue with the job even though they seemed to think it looked normal as-is, which we appreciated.

Mottern did our steps and walkway in stone. Beautiful work, done on time. The crew was great and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy and would use them again.
