They're on the pricier side (but not the most expensive we contacted). But they give great personalized service and recommendations. And they handle all relationships with contractors, which saves a lot of headaches.

The complete renovation of our very small (6’x7’) main bathroom was completed 4 weeks ago and we are TOTALLY HAPPY, primarily thanks to 2 local companies, Kitchen and Bath Factory and MK Home Improvement! Our primary goal was to replace a jetted tub with a Kohler LuxStone grout-free walk-in shower. For that part of the project we contracted with the only Kohler LuxStone contractor providing services in Virginia, as well as Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania, Home Smart Industries (HMI), out of Aston PA. While we love the LuxStone shower and Kohler products and the installation teams were terrific, the fact that HMI ONLY offered the tub-to-shower conversion meant we had to find another company to upgrade EVERYTHING ELSE in the bathroom. For that very important part, we were fortunate to find Kitchen and Bath Factory(KBF), right here in Arlington, Va. KBF has been operating for 3+decades and we know why: THEY DO GREAT WORK at reasonable prices and are SUPER to work with! David Doughton, KBF owner and designer, and his staff and preferred contractor and vendors were SUPERB! Great design, thoughtful and professional advice, and a willingness to coordinate with HMI seamlessly were critical to our project. David and his teams came through for us on every level. Our installation team for all but the shower was KBF’s preferred contractor, MK Home Improvement (MKHI). There are simply not enough good words to say about Marko Kristel, MKHI's owner and team supervisor, and his teams of craftsmen. They were on top of every piece of the project and worked closely with each other, with KBF, and my husband and I. They were attentive to every detail, thorough, fast, highly professional AND always kept us informed, welcoming our many questions. They even kept the areas they were working in clean as they went along. In summary, we highly recommend BOTH Kitchen and Bath Factory and MK Home Improvement for home renovations!

The sales meeting with the owner and the pricing which was positive, the implementation of the design was troublesome. We were expecting a high-end product and experience, which were not received. The work was contracted and subcontracted to uncommunicative, rude, hostile, and manipulative contractors who, among other things, played off of each other to force us to pay twice for work that was already in the contract and resorted to name-calling and accusations when we asked for clarification. (R.E.D. Contractors and Jose Amaya Remodeling, which I will review separately.) The products are good, and other than ongoing issues with the installation, which the contractors will not repair without additional charges, we are very pleased with David's (the owner's) design. My friends also used Kitchen and Bath Factory and were assigned a different contractor who did the work himself, and they had an entirely different and positive experience. If you are going to use the Kitchen and Bath Factory, request Pavel, not Rafal.
