Top-notch craftsman who keeps costs reasonable. Can be tough to reach as he's a one-man band but worth the effort.

I hired Mr. Mason based on his ratings in Checkbook 2 or 3 years ago for a small job at a rental property--he was prompt, efficient, not expensive, and the work was well done. Earlier this year, similar situation, relatively small job, he was still easy to deal, keeping us advised on timing, etc., but the final product was clearly subpar: visible lines between sheets of drywall, painting sloppy. He offered to redo it, but the tenants didn't want more disruption. I'll pay to fix the patching when the TH is next vacant.

He’s as is mentioned previously “old school” . Someone who throughly understands the work that needs to be done and does an excellent job. No he doesn’t text you but I certainly would trade that for someone who is such an expert and craftsman.
