Ginger at The Shade Store in Alexandria is a dream! Easy to work with, knows her stuff, and is excellent at giving you the time and space to choose just the right window treatment for each room. TSS has such a wide selection of window blinds, shades, and drapes - and more colors and fabric than you can imagine. It sometimes takes a few visits to decide between all the options (taking samples home etc), but there's no pressure at all and everyone at TSS seems really passionate about helping you make just the right choice. Installation is easy to schedule, and they do quick and beautiful work. Such a positive experience - my home has never looked better!

I used the Shade Store to replace cellular shades in several windows and add an additional one to a glass paneled door. They have great design, measure and installation services. Though they were not inexpensive, the quality of the cellular shades is so much better than the ones they replaced which were from a typical blinds store. I would definitely use them again for other window treatments.

I went to the Shade Store for shades for a sliding glass door and windows on either side. They on a first floor and, per homeowner association rules, have to have white or off-white facing outside. My first time in the store the associate gave me an off-white swatch for the doors and white for the windows and said those were my only options. This was my first time buying window treatments so I was hoping for suggestions/ideas but didn't really get any on the first trip. In the end, I spent a good bit of time on the website, talked twice to their phone design consultants and went into the store three times. The in-store associate I talked to on the other visits was more helpful. I did find swatches that would match for the window and door but they only had two off-white options for the door that are not see-through and I didn't like either. I ultimately went with another store. The Shade Store associates are very good about following up and became more helpful with time but I was very disappointed with the fabric selection. So I overall recommend with some reservation.
