Despite all the "adequates" in my rating, I recommend the Franconia Center for its wonderful Olympic size pool and a hot tub that is finally working. Membership prices are high, considering this is part of a system which my tax dollars support, and all aquatic classes incur an extra fee. Other classes have some very good teachers, esp. if you like Zumba, but the variety of classes offered is not what it was before. Trying to temporarily suspend membership can be an ordeal, and staff have given me different answers to the same question. But, as I said, that pool is fantastic (if often crowded, esp. in the summer when multiple "kids camps" are being held.

Franconia RECenter recently renovated their locker rooms; updating the floor and wall tile throughout, and updating the toilets and fixtures. It looks very nice! However, within a months time frame since the renovation, the floors throughout the men's locker room and the shower floors and walls are pretty dirty and not kept clean. Dirt, soap scum have already built up. Before the renovation, the unkempt locker rooms were a big issue, and not surprisingly they continue to be dirty and not cleaned on a daily basis. Why would they go through a costly renovation and not keep the locker rooms clean? A part of the attraction to any gym is how kept up the facility is and how clean it is; especially how clean the locker rooms are. If they want additional people to join they should show some pride in the facility and keep it clean.

Have not been since the virus lockdown. Loved the group drop-in classes although the variety suffered when one of the instructors left for a permanent job.
