Rooftop has been a trusted, professional service provider for years, handling things like replacing 3-story chimney liners, crown repairs, and annual cleanings. But this year’s experience was marred by poor customer service when they canceled a cleaning on short notice and mistakenly claimed I was at fault due to their misdialed number. While disappointed by the lack of follow-up, their long history of reliable service earns them the benefit of the doubt.

Clearly try to upsell. Failed to check the part of the chimney that needed repair and recommended unnecessary work at highly inflated prices.

This is a cautious recommendation. They did a great job cleaning and inspecting my chimney and fireplace this past year. But they tried to upsell me on a bunch of services we didn't need. They said our smoke chamber was cracked and needed to be repaired/coated, and they quoted me $1200 for this. I had two other fireplace/chimney companies come out, and they said the smoke chamber looks fine.
