I've lived in Alexandria for more than 30 years and increasingly hear (and experience) negative stories about Yates (the car wash, the dry cleaner and particularly the service station.) Somewhere along the line they lost their way -- every service is overpriced and, in the case of the service station, dishonest if not corrupt. Once they literally fabricated a problem during an inspection that two other mechanics said didn't exist.

I've seen some disparaging remarks about this place, but I've never had a bad experience and my car always comes out looking great. I take the cleaning that also does the inside and it looks great -- parts even look new. I always tip the detail person doing the inside, since they take some time to really go over the car. It can get busy so go during "down" times or very early.
