I can’t recommend strongly enough that people avoid ordering appliances through either the Alexandria Home Depot store or through home depot online (since this is also routed through the store) based on my recent experience with ordering a new LG washer/dryer. The store and the customer service responsible for managing the deliveries take no responsibility have no influence over the installation company and they take no responsibility for their actions. I have spent countless hours on phone calls with the Home Depot store, the home depot delivery customer service, and LG. I have also spent multiple days, including taking off work days, waiting for an installer to arrive. Everything about this experience has been incredibly frustrating and time consuming. (the only redeeming part were a few nice Alexandria store employees who did try to fix things, but had absolutely no power to make the installation company do the right thing) The first set of installers arrived with my washer and dryer. They put them into position and the dryer did not turn on. The installer insisted that it was something wrong with my outlet. I had just had a dryer plugged into the outlet, so I knew it was working and non-contact voltage tester also showed it was getting power. The installers did not level the appliances or test them. The installer said he was going to go back to his truck to call his manager. Instead, he just left, without completing the job. Moreover, he had left water from the hoses on the floor in and outside my unit, scratched my floors, and dinged up the molding around my door in the process. I was on the phone for over an hour and half on the phone with the delivery service number, who could not get the installers to return to fix the problem. She had me run a cycle to make sure the washer was working. At that point, the washer started leaking. I called the store as well who also said they couldn’t do anything to get the installation service to do anything in a timely manner even though they had never completed the installation and water was now coming out of the washing machine. The second set of installers were supposed to come out and check the whole installation. They discovered that the electrical cord had been incorrectly connected. Once they fixed it, the dryer started working. They said everything looked ok with the washer and leveled it. After they left, I ran a load of laundry and it started leaking again. I had to make numerous phone calls to get them to send the installers back the next day. When they returned, they said that the washer needed to be replaced. On the Saturday they were supposed to return with the new washer, they called and I didn’t get to my phone fast enough. I immediately retuned the call but no one answered. About 45 minutes later I called again and no one answered. I called Home Depot’s customer service line and they said the installers had tried to contact me and since they didn’t reach me, they were rescheduling me for Tuesday. After trying to get them and the store to do something, I finally asked for them to pick up the order and refund my purchase.
