Initial communication is poor. After receiving the deposit, we heard nothing for two months, with excuses that they're busy and have other clients lined up. When we asked for our deposit back they scheduled a crew that week.
Execution is poor. We had a crew of young kids come out and do the work- no Mr. Rall. They botched the install of a drain, covered parts of the dig with seed but left others open, and didn't realize that when they hit clay that the rain garden wouldn't drain- they just did the work. The garden turned into a algae covered mosquito farm.
We've had 4 subsequent visits out by Rall's contractors to remediate his work. I now have a bypass pipe (at an additional $600 charge) that makes the rain garden decorative only. At least it's not breeding mosquitos. I strongly believe that if an experienced landscaper was working with the crew they would have immediately stopped and worked with the homeowner rather than trying to get out ASAP.
Rall himself is a good landscaper. His crews are poor. His office communication is poor. He does respond to emails in a timely manner, however.
