Although St. Joe's is better than the competition, that is not saying much. They simply do not have enough help. Need to go to the bathroom? Be prepared to wait hours. Some of the staff are great while others should not be dealing with human beings. The building itself is great. It is roomy, has a nice living room and nice dining room. The food is inedible. The two major complaints by the residents are the food quality and the lack of help. There is no reason for residents to have to wait hours to get help. At times and entire wing will have no aide whatsoever. One aide may finish work at 4 PM with the next one not scheduled to show up until 7 PM. They will promise you the world, but promises are empty. The physical therapy department does do a good job. At close to $500 per day, residents deserve better. Most of the residents who have been elsewhere will tell you that as bad as it is, it beats where they were previously. Our seniors deserve much better.
