I got three estimates for a new HVAC system and Carney's was more than $2700 higher than my best estimate. Very high overhead with more than 40 trucks on the street.

I first dealt with them ten years ago when they installed my geothermal system. Superlative work and knowledgeable staff. Now, three months after end of warranty, the main circuit board failed. The manufacturer (very kindly) provided the part for free. Carney marked up the part and charged $469. for a 45-minute job. They are also non-stop pushing their maintenance contract. I feel sorry for the excellent technicians who are pressured into being hard-sell sales people. Maybe this is due to their recent merger with another HVAC company. Due to the knowledgeable and professional techs, I will still recommend, but next time I will try another company due to their business practices.

I have used Carney's for over 10 years. When they merged with All Seasons, there seems to have been a change in corporate culture. Instead of providing an excellent service and reasonable price, they seemed to concentrate on getting as much money from the customer as possible. In one case, they charged me $900 to install a $200 furnace fan that took them less than an hour to install. In another case, they wanted to charge me over $300 to attempt to fix my water softener. I declined, got directions from the manufacturer to do it myself, and it took me less than 15 minutes. I recently had to replace my HVAC system. Carney was 50% higher than the next quote for the same solution. Bottom line: I think Carney does quality work, but the prices are getting out of control.
