Dr. DeMaria is a good Dr., he use to be my doctor until I found another doctor that knew how to handle my health problems but I was also tired of dealing with the front desk and their incompetence because I would make an appointment to see Dr demaria and when I would get to my appointment I would be seen by somebody else and that's not who I would make my appointments with, but my parents staied with him because he is a good doctor. The biggest problem with his practice and one of the reasons that I left his practice is because of the girls|receptionist's that run the front office. They were rude, never answered the phone, rarely got a phone call back, and they have no bedside manner. When my father got sick in May of 2019 I became his caretaker and they said that he was just sick with pneumonia but I could see that there was something else going on with him and when I called the office those girls|receptionist's they were telling me that there was no reason for me to have the doctor call me back because my Dad was just seen and he had pneumonia, their was nothing that the doctor could do, even though I told them that his ability to breathe was getting worse (I could see that he had begun to breathe from his diaphragm which meant that he was struggling to take an oxygen) but they just reiterated what they had said that there was nothing to be done he had pneumonia and no doctor could do anything he just had to take his medication. When his medication ran out and I called to get more medication ordered for him because he had not gotten any better they they did not want to help me with that either but fortunately I was able to convince one of the practitioners to prescribe my father the medication he needed. He was very sick from the beginning of May until he finally went to the hospital in mid July and I was his caretaker that whole time and I watched him suffer and slowly suffocate all because those girls kept telling me and my Mom that they couldn't do anything for him and he didn't need to go to the hospital. He would get better if he kept taking his meds (he didn't want to go before that because his insurance company required his practitioner to give the ok to go). By the time that he went to the hospital he was so bad off that he had to be put on life support and he was in a medically induced coma. That's when we were told that he had stage 4 lung cancer and it had already begun to spread throughout his body. On July 17, 2019 we honored his decision and took him off of life support and he was gone within seconds. Please don't misunderstand what I'm saying Dr.DeMaria is a good doctor IF you are lucky enough to actually get an appointment with him and I in no way blame his staff for my father's death but I am saying and I absolutely believe that if they had just listened to what I was saying and if they had any compassion my Daddy might not have suffered as much as he did. He could have been given an oxygen tank so that he didn't struggle as much as he did and there are other things that could have been done if they had only had the bedside manner in the common sense to know that they're not the doctor and if somebody calls the doctor should be informed especially if the patient is asking. I know that I'm writing a lot of personal things here but I believe that if I am going to rate someone or something I should explain WHY I've rated them the way I did.

Very professional staff

As a former medical professional, I occasionally feel that I am disregarded when discussing my symptoms and giving suggestions. Dr. Demaria is very caring, but seems distant in more recent visits. Has been my primary for 30 years. Office billing service is very unfriendly.
