My Mother was here for two years + had terrible care. She was not incontinent but eventually becamehe unable to walk with help to the bathroom. They used the Hoyer lift for a few months and she ended up with a huge bruise on her shin because she was knocked in to a door frame. Then, they decided not to use the Hoyer lift to bring her to the bathroom...saying it was found to be involved in too many drops. So, my 98 year old Mother was forced to delicate in her Depends!! She was so humiliated + this contributed to her decline. She also fell off her bed after being left alone sitting on the edge and broke her femor. They then submitted a falsified report to Department of Human Services stating that my Mother had moved to the end of the bed herself when there was absolutely no way she had the strength left to move....an aide had moved her there + left. There were several residents who fell falls out of their wheel chairs due to lack of supervision. One poor woman fell + her femor broke through the skin on her leg. The Department of Human Services was useless in addressing any issues brought to them .... the one I worked with was definitely just trying to get a couple more years in before retiring . And, you cannot rely on DHS ratings either because the staff know when DHS is coming to do their examination and they fully staff with aides on those days and get as many residents as possible out of their rooms...this is an irritation to a very few staff who hate the charade. Even the administrators are out on the floor serving snacks to residents and smiling + talking to them. My Mother was mentally + physically beaten down by the falls + mishaps that left her laying in bed 24 hrs a day (where she developed bed sores because of improper cares)and the end was in site. She deserved much better.

We found that the staff varied greatly in their friendliness and responsiveness. Some were friendly and helpful, while others bordered on rude and had to be "bothered" to get some things done that we were paying for daily. It was frustrating and sad at times.
