Very disappointing response to COVID-19 and respect of clients. We wanted to use Glen Lake Groomers to support small businesses instead of using Petsmart grooming. We called to make an appointment for my parents’ dogs in May and the earliest opening they had was end of June. We took those appointments and were assured that they were sanitizing between dogs, wearing face coverings, and doing curb side pick up/drop off due to COVID-19. This was really important to us as we’ve been caring for my parents since my dad is at very high risk. When we arrived we called expecting someone to come out to get the dogs. We were told to bring the dogs into the store. When we walked into the shop no one besides us were wearing masks, there were animals everywhere, no social distancing, and no sanitizing between animals that we could tell. This was very disappointing to us. We understand regulations change but they haven’t even been reopen for a month. We would have appreciated a phone call letting us know they were easing up on precautions. Then we could have decided with my parents if we were comfortable bringing them in. Now we had to bring them to our house and re-bathe them before bringing them home to my parents. Again, this was all a very disappointing experience and they have shown that they do not value or respect the safety of their clients. We will not be bringing our pets back to this groomer and urge others to think twice before bringing theirs. If they aren’t taking COVID-19 seriously I highly doubt they take other requests (hypoallergenic shampoo, specific grooming or care requests, etc.) seriously. Also, the first time we went they threw away our $50+ flee and tick collar.

I brought my15 pound 1 year old gentle natured dog who has never had problems with nail trims with other places to them for a nail trim. They returned my dog to me with a noticeable limp that lasted 3 days. They never said anything about the injury or that there was a problem. Not going back.
