My sister and I visited 16 assisted living places /nursing homes before choosing Sunrise for our parents. We moved our parents into Sunrise the first week in August 2012 after 24 hr home care became insufficient to meet their increasing care requirements. Our father suffered from vascular dementia and was wheelchair bound and our mother suffered from Alzheimer's and was wheelchair bound. They lived in the 3rd floor memory care unit. They really liked the staff there. I can not imagine that we could have chosen a better place for them to live their remaining time. Our father passed in Oct. 2012 and our mother passed in Feb. 2013. During that time,the management and staff of Sunrise always performed in a professional and very caring manner. Whenever we came a across an issue that required their attention they would always immediately correct the situation. Very very responsive.The caregivers treat all of the residents with respect. They were very gentle providing our parents care needs and were gentle in all of the transfers in and out of bed or wheelchairs that were required. They have a very patient and caring well-trained staff. I used to bring my parents down to the main dining room for dinner on the first floor and some of the staff on that level would greet them with a cheery smile and a hug. I was amazed at the level of tender loving care that was performed by all of the Sunrise caregivers given that professional caregiving has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. I hope everyone else has a similar great experience with Sunrise of Minnetonka. I was always impressed by Sunrise.

The staff was very helpful and patient with my father who needed a very high level of physical care due to his immobility. Very caring and friendly environment compared with other facilities that we experienced.
