What follows is fair warning based on my experience: I brought my Camry in to repair a weak A/C, and told them I had the extended warranty (Vehicle Serviced Agreement (VSA) from Toyota) in force. - They claimed “A/C work would not be covered but we’ll call to see if they’ll make an exception”. (They never called VSA. It turns out, A/C repair *is* covered under VSA). - They fully filled the A/C with refrigerant and dye (to diagnose leak). (They *should* have charged a minimum amount of refrigerant (i.e., less expensive) for diagnosis). - They charged me a total of $746 including $418 for refrigerant. (I later discovered that I should not have not been charged since A/C is indeed a covered repair under VSA). - I later dropped the car off to locate the leak and repair the A/C. They told me repairs would cost $1500. I chose not to authorize those repairs and then subsequently called VSA and found that repairs and diagnosis are covered with no deductible to me. - I later dropped the car off for the A/C repairs, and gave them the VSA agreement number (which they could easily find via the car VIN). I instructed them to verify warranty coverage and to call me before doing any work. (They did neither.) - When they called to tell me I could pick up the car, they told me “the wheel lugs are *broken*, we can replace for $200”. (This was a bald-faced lie, a scare tactic. I had previously replaced OEM chrome covered lug nuts with perfectly fine stainless lug nuts : Google “lug nut swelling”) - When I later picked up the car, they presented me with a bill for $1500 for the repair. (I should not been charged at all.) - I refused to pay this. (After some hassle, they did return the car keys to me.) - I asked them to contact VSA and make a claim for the earlier diagnosis work so I could be reimbursed. They said they’d have to talk with someone internally at the dealership the following week. (I never heard back from them.) - I called and left a message to contact me with the status of reimbursement for the diagnosis work. (I never heard from them.) Note that claims to VSA have to be made from the repair shop. The agreement owner (me) can’t themselves make a claim, so I have been at the mercy of the service department. Bottom line, I’m out $746 that should be $0. I was treated like a rube, a wallet to be picked. I certainly will never use Rudy Luther Toyota again. Consider yourself warned.

My Prius has been 'cared' for by Rudy Luther, Golden Valley since I purchased it in 2007. Friendly, helpful, decent prices. I trust the service.
