First the crew had to break up the concrete pad in the basement, then install the (vertical) steel beams as indicated by the plans from the structural engineer. Last, they refilled the areas around the beams with concrete.
Mr. Neal was very good at letting us know the progress on the construction. It took longer than expected because of weather and other complications, but the overall cost was about the same as quoted.
