Fred Augustin is an experienced electrician handling problems of all kinds efficiently and pleasantly. We've never had a need to call him back a second time.

Excellent response time. Quickly identified the problem -- which was a fire hazard. It was repaired the same day at a very fair price.

We had four fluorescent fixtures that we wanted to replace with track lighting fixtures. We purchased the track lights ourselves. I called Augustin Wiring at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday and left a message. Fred returned my call that same day. We discussed the job and pricing. He also asked me to send him pictures of the fixtures that were being replaced. Fred told me he would let me know when he had determined his schedule for the coming week. Friday (two days after I called) Fred texted to see if he could come by on Monday. That day worked for us. Fred let me know he had one job before ours and that he would text when he was on the way. He did exactly that. One of the new track lights was to be installed in the kitchen. Fred discussed with me options for placement of the new fixture. Oddly, the new fixture came with a remote control which I did NOT want to have to use to turn on the light. Fred studied the instruction manual and assured me that the new fixture could be operated with a light switch. Fred placed a tarp under the work area to catch any bugs and (ahem) dust from the old fixture. After installing the fixture and removing the tarp, he swept up any remaining debris using his own brush and dustpan. The three other track lights were to be installed in the basement. Fred discovered that the existing fixtures had been installed incorrectly. He fixed the issue (crossed wires?) with each installation, making sure that the next person who worked on the lights wouldn't get shocked (literally). In the course of Fred's discovering the issue, the corresponding fuse tripped, turning off the house security system (which started to beep). Fred worked with me to make sure that the security system was working properly once the fuse was reset. Fred moved the metal "guts" of the four old fixtures to the garage for me, concerned about the potential for harm (to me) from handling the sharp elements. The entire visit (from arrival to departure) lasted three hours. Fred is very personable, and his work is excellent. He is generous with his knowledge. It was a pleasure interacting with a dedicated craftsman. I highly recommend Augustin Wiring for any electrical work.
