Not enough staff to get the job done. Vehicle was kept 3 days shy of 3 weeks. But, was notified every now and then about the numerous delays.

The car had two problems: a dead battery and an issue covered by a safety recall. I had experienced the safety recall issue with a previous Dodge, so I said when bringing the car in that it was likely the problem.

Both battery testing and diagnosis of the safety recall issue were supposed to be free. However, the shop told me that if the safety recall issue was NOT the problem, I would be charged $135 for diagnosis. After an hour, they said that they had determined that the safety recall issue was not the problem, but would need another 4 hours (and over $400) to figure out what the problem was. (They had failed at that point even to determine that the battery was dead.) At that point, I paid them the $135 and took the car away.

A friend came by, tested the battery, and told me it was dead. I then installed a new battery and took the car to another dealership for the remaining problems. The other dealership determined that in fact the remaining problems were due to the safety recall issue I had identified in the first place, and repaired the safety recall issue, which eliminated all of the problems I had been experiencing.

At that point, I requested a refund from the dealership. They ignored my request for a week, so I filed a claim with the credit card issuer. Only then did the dealership agree to issue me a refund, which they said I would receive within a week. After a week and a half, not having received the refund, I called again, to be told that the refund would be another several days. At this time, I am still waiting to see whether the refund will arrive THIS time.
