The accountant is very smart and personable. He's also in over his head, and takes on more clients than he can service competently. He needs a partner or a knowledgable assistant. Among the many problems I experienced: His portal wasn't set up properly for me; he answered only 40-50 percent of my emails; his answers to many of my emails were inadequate (he often only responded to the first question and ignored the others); he made mistakes in the returns; he overlooked documents I'd given him... Every single part of the process had some error or oversight. I feel bad writing this, as I like him very much and would have liked to make him my accountant, but the stress I felt in worrying if he would come through or get it right, which I experienced every step of the way, was too much. Get an assistant, or take on fewer clients, please!
