It should have been a one-day job. However, because the crew did not measure correctly, it dragged on for a month, with visits to try to install, and re-measure about once a week. The dishwasher under the counter was pulled out, but not reinstalled -- "not our job." We had to pay an outside installer $250 to come and put it back correctly. I wanted them to cut the price by $250, but because they had our credit card information they took the full price out of our account. I learned never to pay a contractor with a credit card.

Requested 50% deposit plus full invoice payment prior to starting the work (i.e., totaling 100% deposit), which contradicts the Maryland Home Improvement Commission contract requirement that a contractor cannot accept more than 1/3 of the contract price as a deposit.
