I had been looking for carpet for 2+ years but hadn't found a color that would complement my living room paint color and also work with the other rooms in my condo. I've learned that paint has an undertone, which makes it challenging to find the right color, as carpet manufacturers don't arrange samples by undertone. Thanks to Checkbook I decided to go "out of state" to Carpet and Vacuum Expo in Potomac MD and my experience was fantastic. The customer service was exceptional. I was the only customer at the time and Steve and Bruce not only pointed out which carpet displays I should look at but also brought samples over to the table where we were working. I had brought my paint sample with me which made it easy to eliminate some choices, but I also found several samples that I liked and Steve was willing to order as many as I wanted. Bruce came to measure my condo the next day and brought additional samples. I found several that I liked and one that was perfect. The best part was that my favorite was also the least expensive of the samples I'd received. The installers did a great job (no gouged baseboards and lots of heavy furniture to move) and the carpet looked even better than I could have imagined. The two year search was well worth it because I got exactly the carpet that I had hoped for. Thank you to everyone at Carpet and Vacuum Expo!

As many have attested here already, Steve is great to work with. No high-pressure sales, no attempts to up sell just solid advice with explanations of your options and alternatives. The installation of the carpet we purchased was scheduled in a reasonable time and went off without a hitch or hassle.

Prior to working with Steve and his staff I had two rooms carpeted by other companies, and my hardwood floors refinished by another two companies. I have had Steve replace both of the previously installed carpets (only 5 yrs old, no kids, no shoes in house) due to poor quality and installation. I also had Steve & Co. remove and replace all of the hardwood in our home (4 rooms, stairs, & hallway). The experience was what consumers also hope for but almost never receive. Steve is very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, zero pressure, and conducts business with integrity (this was displayed thee first time we did business together and resulted in our refusing to go to anyone else for flooring). His staff is two teams of full time installers (one for carpet, one for hardwood)....no sub-contrcators.......who are highly skilled and take great care in your home. I am very detailed oriented, ask alot of questions, and want things perfect and Steve & Co. have no problem with that.
