I unexpectedly had to replace my entire septic system before being able to close the sale of my Rockville home. There had been no signs of anything ever being wrong, but the required pre-sale system inspection failed due to the 1957 construction of the “pit” was no longer up to code. What started as a somewhat simple project got complicated when a non-permitted addition was discovered (done prior to my buying the home 25 yrs earlier). That is when it was necessary to replace everything … including the drain field. I met with a few companies for estimates. One company offered a cheaper solution that would bypass county regulations. That was a no-go for me! I needed this done correctly and as quickly as possible since I had already closed on my new home. Two companies provided estimates that met county regulations. I chose Young Excavating because they not only had a much better price, but they could start on the job immediately and worked “hand-in-hand” with the county inspector in order to get everything done to spec correctly the first time. At every interval, they had the inspector meet at my house to review next steps … how and why it was to be done. That allowed for the inspector to make his recommendations, and everything moved forward as quickly as possible. From an owner’s perspective, I could not have had a better team heading this up than Don and Randy Young! Not just professionals, but also very nice gentlemen. They made what could have been a discomforting time one that I had no problem living with. They always kept me informed of “next steps”, answered all of my questions, and at least one of the two was always on the job. It was a pleasure working with them and I highly recommend them to others!
