An emergency need for chimney repair drove me to get two bids, one from 2 Hats and one from another vendor on this listserv. The bids came in about the same, but it was only 2 Hats that alerted me to the possibility that workmen who walked on my spanish tile roof might easily break some of the tiles if they were not careful. For this reason 2 Hats insisted on getting to the chimney via a route that didn't require them to step on the tiles. I appreciated their caution and their candor in explaining all this to me. They were already top-rated in this forum, and I want to add my very positive review to those already posted.

Background in firefighting leads to careful recommendations, but not excessive - on last visit, reported chimney did not need cleaning, charged only for the visit

2 Hats was great to work with. Came promptly for the estimate and Dave was terrific in explaining what was needed to be done and what was wasn’t needed ( just as important). Unlike the two other companies I got estimates from, who both up sold and recommended many unnecessary additions. Dave’s staff were wonderful to deal with. They did some additional work I requested, not part of the original contract. The original contract and the added work in total came in as less than 1/3 of the other estimates.
